Guidelines for Presentations

Oral presentation preparation

  • Official language: English
  • Preferred Presentation File Format: Microsoft Office PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx)
  • Use standard fonts such as Times New Roman, Arial, Calibri, or Verdana which will be installed on the session room computers. If you use any unique fonts, your presentation may not operate correctly on the session room computer.
  • Verification of proper performance of the presentation at the Registration desk is highly recommended, particularly if video or animation is included in the presentation.

Presentation material submission

  • Please bring your presentation files on a USB drive one day before your presentation to avoid congestion. Presenters of the first day should hand over their files to the technician as soon as they arrive.
  • Presenters will not be allowed to use personal laptops to avoid problems with computer-projector compatibility.

Allocated presentation time

  • Please check your presentation schedule and session on the website.
  • It is important that you arrive at your session room at least 10 minutes before the start of session to make sure that everything is prepared for your presentation.

According to the presentation type, the allocated presentation time is different. Please refer to the time standard below;

  • Plenary Lecture: 40 min. (35 min + 5 min Q&A)
  • Oral Presentation Times for the parallel sessions:
    • Most sessions will start with a 20 min (15 min for presentation + 5 min for Q & A) talk, followed by 15 min (12 min for presentation + 3 min for Q & A) talks

Please find the details of your session on the website, and ensure that the length of your presentation matches with the time available to you as indicated above. Chairs have been asked to be strict in all of our sessions about time compliance to avoid over-run and ensure the possibility of shuffling between sessions.

General poster presenter guideline

Presenting a poster is a great way to visually share your research work and expertise with a wide range of delegates who are interested to learn about what you have done and also give you positive feedback. The guidelines below give you some tips to help you design and develop your poster and how to display it for presentation at our event. All posters will be displayed in Liget Hall, near the exhibition area.

Poster presentation regulation

  • Posters should be affixed and removed by the presenters themselves in time.
  • ODD numbered posters should be presented on Friday evening (Poster Session I.), and the presenters are asked to remove their poster by 11:00 on Saturday, at latest. EVEN numbered posters should be presented on Saturday (Poster Session II.).

Poster preparation

  • Poster Size: A0 Size (portrait oriented, 841 mm width x 1189 mm height) Failure to follow this requirement will mean that the poster will not fit on the allotted board.
  • The poster title, author(s)’s name(s) and affiliation(s) should appear on the top.
  • Posters should be readable to viewers from 1 meter away. For legibility, a minimum font size of 24 points is recommended.
  • Keep logos discrete and to a minimum.
  • The preferred poster background is plain to ensure legibility.
  • Before sending to print do not forget to proof read the poster yourself, and ask someone else to do the same, checking also for clarity.
  • Posters should be affixed to the poster boards using pins. Our staff will provide supplies on-site.

We thank you for your contribution to the Congress.
We look forward to seeing you in Eger.
